A weekend in the Nied country

This country has stories and legends to tell of the Moselle. The old houses reflect a traditional rural heritage, preserving the memory of ancestral practices and reliving the charm of yesteryear. Platt or Franconian, spoken by Charlemagne back in the 3rd century, is still in use here. This is countryside to be visited calmly, enjoying specialties like Boulay macaroons and passing through villages with ancient shrines, stone calvaries depicting episodes from the Bible.
