Built in the 11th or 12th century in the form of a spiral, this mighty feudal castle underwent alteration and extension over the passing centuries. Standing on the hill known as Schlossberg, it overlooks the town of Forbach and the Saar and Rosselle Valleys, providing a unique panoramic view of the region from the top of the Saareck Tower more than 300 metres tall. The Knights’ Chamber gives visitors an idea of mediaeval architecture. Schlossberg’s park, which was laid out in the 19th century, boasts more than 80 different types of tree and some outstanding flowers.
